Question by :
I have a website that is on top of google with “Quotes” but not without them?
Hey guys i current made a website and its been a week for my webstie being on first page on google with quotes. Am i doing something wrong ? why isnt my websit on first page in google without quotes. I did seo and article posting. Or does this just takes time ? WHat should i do ?

Also i want to find a free software that tracks down where my website is on google with quotes and without them Thank YOU!!
http://workopportunitiesfrom-home.com/ this is the website and i post the aritcle on few high ranking website “ezine” and im getting some traffic from there but somehow when i downlod the plugin it states 0/10 or not ranked ??..??

——————————————

Answer by Doodled
The problem is with your site and there are many issues.

First stop concentrating on “off-site” SEO by writing articles and get your own site right so Google and others will want to list it. In 5 minutes I saw these errors:
– lack of meta tags
– title tag looks as if it is ‘keyword stuffing’ which might ultimately get you banned
– poor spelling and grammar in the text (search engines can pick this up just like word processors so clean it up!
– that actual home page contains nearly no information but the directory /articles/ is superior and ranking higher than the home page!
– your keywords – ‘work’, ‘home’, ‘opportunities’ – do not appear in the right density on your home page and too much on other pages
- Your home page does not W3C validate because of poor coding.

To comprehend the real SEO process have a look at this page:

http://howtoseo.link2light.com/how-to-seo-your-website_plan.php

There are over 20 steps before doing anything off site.

The free software you are looking for is Google Sitemaps (part of Google Webmaster Tools) which will tell you exactly when and where you site is appearing in the rankings.

Answer by Raju
Hi,
You need to do a lot of things to become on page 1 on google page in your keywords.Just submitting article to ezine is not enough. This is continious process .You will have to create back link for your website regularly. You should get help from some reputed seo firm that will help you to grow your business and traffic also.I will recommend you to try http://www.directory.ac .They are one of the ideal in world wide web marketing and SEO business.

Answer by Metapilot
There is a huge difference between showing up in search results for a keyphrase in quotes and for the same keyphrase without quotes. When you search for phrase in quotes, search engines treat that phrase as a block of words and in the results, give you web pages that contain that exact block of words, in the exact same order. The more words you use within the quotation marks, the fewer sites are likely to show in the results–simply because it gets less and less likely that other sites would use the same words in the same order. However, using fewer words in quotes brings more sites into the search results, as four-word, three-word and two-word combinations get increasingly frequent on the web.

(FYI, when you get down to a one-word search, with or without quotation marks, your results will be very similar)

Searching for longer phases in quotation marks lets you know a couple of important things very quickly, however. It can let you know if the web page from which the quoted has been taken has been indexed by the search engine. If the search engine provides your site as a result (you might have to click the “search with the omitted results included” link at the end of the results to see it) you know the page has been crawled and indexed by the search engine. It can also give you a good idea if someone has copied your content onto their site.

Notice that previous paragraph did not state anything about ranking. That is because few searchers who looking to purchase something or who might be potential conversion candidates for your website are searching for a phrase within quotation marks. So who really cares to measure their rankings for a five-word phrase in quotation marks?

So, what does it mean that your site come up on page one for the quoted phrase and not the phrase without quotation marks? Well, it means 1.) that the search engine knows your site exist on the Web 2.)There aren’t many other sites out there who are in competition with you for the exact same quoted phrase you searched for 3.) The sites that are competing with you for similar (but not exact) combinations of words in your phrase are superior optimized than yours.

What can you do about it? Of course, you could check us out at www.metapilot.com, or you could add more content and optimize the site for your keywords (without quotes). Once you do that and get enough back links of adequate quality you will like move up from your PR 0 status–and this can take months or years, depending on how hard you work at it.

Oh yeah, and try the free version of WebCEO to track your keywords.

——————————————

Question by ardq4evr:
Can I purchase SEO & does it work?
Hi there. I have a social networking website but I seriously need intense website traffic. As it stands, business is slow & I have tried everything like joining forums, other social networking sites, writing articles, blogs, opt in emails, google adwords, creating links & backlinks everything & yet, traffic is very slow.
So, im beginning to think that SEO is the ideal way forward. Are there any legit companies that does SEO for you, I do not care about the costs. I just simply want traffic fast. Also, if there is anything that I have not mentioned that will get traffic to my site please state so.

Many thanks

Adam

——————————————

Answer by Jakester
Sounds like you have been ctively employing seo techniques, it can take month for your site to be ‘credited’ with some backlinks, you might continue to develop more orgainic traffic as time goes by.

The huge time seo professionals have additional assets that enable them to swiftly generate traffic, chiefly networks of sites with good search engine ranking on which they can add links to your site. Some seo companies also run free link exchange pools, that they can tap into as an additional source of links.

If you have identified the value of a visitor, you can budget a more massive paid advertising campaign using other channels. Adwords is one of the more costly methods, though it’s useful for measuring the effectiveness of an ad at a low volume. To advertise more broadly, you might want to go to media buys, the sort of network advertisement some spend thousands a day on. Generally banners or pop-up pages using cpm pricing, several of the huge names have minimum prices of $ 100 to $ 200. A secondary benefit of displaying a banner thousands or millions of times is brand awareness, some studies show that a familiarity with a brand through repeated exposure, even at a subliminal level helps establish the trust level needed to convert to a paying customer.
A couple of the huge paid media suppliers are:

Advertise.com text and display ads, $ 100 min. good quality traffic
Clicksor.com cpc ads delivered in a variety of methods. $ 100 min.
AMPKeywords.com a smaller cpc text ad network, $ 100 min.
Pulse360.com High quality cpc text/display ad network , $ 100 min..
AdBuyer.com cpc.cpm bid text/display, has access to Google’s ad network $ 200 min.
AdBrite.com text and display ads, $ 100 min. cheap ads, lower quality network, tolerating more diverse advertisers, cpc might be a safer bet with them, watch where your ads are placed.

It’s probably worth picking up some tutorial material on paid media / media buys.

Answer by Angela G
Since you have done all the link building but still traffic is not picking up, you definitely need to go for SEO services of an individual or a company. What they do is optimize your webpage titles and description according to the content of your website, so that you website ranks in the first or second page of major search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Ranking high on search engines gets you organic or natural visits. They will also take care of building backlinks to your website from sites related to your niche and there by increase traffic to your website.

A legit SEO company that I would advocate is http://www.outrider.dk Even though they are based in Denmark, but they also cater to English websites.

Answer by theresolution8180
Adam,

I applaud you because you have done a great job so far! You have started the SEO process , yet your actual site probably needs to be optimized. I must tell you that SEO takes time, and over time you will obtain organic (free) traffic. If you would like faster results, then I do advocate procuring the assistance of a professional. Not just for on site optimization; but for a complete world wide web marketing plan with implementation. The plan should include (but is not limited to):

-Video Creation & Submission
-Give-a-ways
-PPC Advertising (Facebook recommended–> 39 billion page views)
- An Auto-responder
-etc.

You must sell the story on what makes your site different from the others.

I advocate contacting lj@dnnseocompany.com. This is a small company; which is great because they truly go the extra mile from a service stand point. Plus they get results! If you contact them, you will not be dissatisfied.

——————————————

Answer by Common Sense
None of that crap matters.

Answer by Jake
I believe tags can matter, there are plugins like the processor intensive, brute force all-in-one seo plugin that rewrites pages incorporating text from provides extra fields into meta tags that search engines anticipate to find.

People state “Google adores blogs” probably mainly because they are expected to have regularly updated content, they probably know well enough how to parse a stock wordpress blog.

Answer by ahkipslipknot666
For now on page SEO (label, header, keyword density) has minimum effect in increasing your ranking. However if you are doing it wrong you might injured your ranking.

Simply repeating your keyword 1000 times is not working anymore. What you need is to create quality content and build link. Yes it is just that simple, keep adding content and build quality link and you will rank high.

some blackhat technique might give you a temporary ranking boost. However they will not last in long term.

and by using blogger do you have your own domain name? It is highly advocate to use your own domain name as blogger can delete your account if they want to

Question by A person:
Question about SEO…?
I signed up for a free web hosting account with a free sub domain as my site address. After a few weeks, I purchased a .com from Godaddy. I set it up to work as my domain by using name servers. I submitted the .com one to Google.

Now though, my free sub domain is also showing up in Google, even though I never submitted it. Even though it only shows up when I directly type the address into Google, I still do not like it. I have tried to get it off of Google but I have not had any luck.

Questions:
Could having the free sub domain in Google effect (or is it affect?) the SEO of my site. Will Google comprehend that it is the same site? Will they think I am duplicating content from the free sub domain name.

Answer by GanChoSan
That is a question that should be answered by Google.com. Since they have very strict rules, I myself would not jeopardize my site being dropped in rank.or being banned by AdSense. Go to the site and give the specifics of your situation and the Google support site will help and you can learn much more about Google.

Answer by Jason-www.eNCarolina.com
Hi EJ,

Congratulations on seeking out SEO help for your firm; choosing the right person or company to work with can make all the difference.

Performing some general searches in your favorite search engine can be a good begin – if you search for “arizona seo” (as an example) you will get some results to investigate.

If you have a pretty good idea of what you want, or what you want to achieve, posting an SEO project on sites such as guru.com or elance.com can be helpful. I advocate being as specific as you can, however, as you will likely get many off-topic responses if the request is vague.

Lastly, you could give me a call (or at least visit my website) – I specialize in SEO / website marketing for small businesses.

Good luck!

Answer by Kevin
It depends on your budget. I would recommend David Mihm for localized results. I have gone to several of his presentations and his stuff is great! He has presented at several search marketing expos for local business.

Meta Title Tag – Yes
Meta Description Tag – Yes
Meta Keywords Tag – Minimally

Answer by Speed
I just posted a new lesson on my blog about this very subject. SEO ranking and what does it all mean. There are tips and ideas that you can use to optimize your website to it’s fullest potential. All this information is totally free. All I ask is that you leave me a comment to let me know that you were there. Meta tags doesn’t make that much of a difference anymore like it used to, but it still is superior than having a site with no meta tags. Google doesn’t ignore the keywords anymore, they just have put less emphasis on ranking you by this means. Just do not put too much time in the META tags. Pick some good ones and move on. You can change them later to optimize it better.

Question by :
questions about setting up a website?
Hi I am thinking about setting up a website. And was looking to know what steps I should take for example should I purchase the domain name and website and then write content on it? ( on a side note could anyone advocate a good webhosting service) or should I create the site content and then purchase the website and therefore a would get more out if my hosting contract as the site would not be stationary for long. The site is an affiliate site selling amazon products. Also does anyone know a good SEO strategy I could use? And I was lookig at a hosting an they where offering secuiruty and etc in the contract or extra fees and I wonder whether I would need this?

I’d really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

——————————————

Answer by ViolentJanine
Create the site first, always. That way you will not run down your time for your domain (as they charge monthly, or yearly, what ever you want). And you will need to purchase hosting as well, you can’t just have a domain name and go on that alone.

You can find a billion free templates from google, just type in Free Web Templates. But you will need a good editor to edit the information in there. That costs a lot of money. I use Dreamweaver cs5 but I like cs2 more.

You get to know what you are doing as you keep working at it, and you can always find forums for specific problems.

I am a web designer and I only charge $ 400 per site, no matter the content. However other professionals charge upward of $ 800, so if you’d like a hand in creating let me know.

Answer by David Momal
To set up a website, there are three steps you will need to take:

*** Get Your Domain Name
A domain name is a name you want to call your website. For example, yahoo.com, google.com, wikipedia.org… . To obtain a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. Take into consideration that you can’t purchase a domain for life. You get it for a period of one to ten years. If you fail to renew the domain name at the end of its term, the registration of the domain will be revoked and the domain name might be acquired by another party.

*** Select a Web Host and Sign Up For an Account
A web hosting service provides you with on the web space. This enables you to get your web pages on the web at your registered domain name.

*** Design Your Web Pages and Get Them Online
There are three ways to create and get your website online:
1- Some web hosts offer Easy-To-Use Site Builder that helps you build your web pages without difficulty, even if you are not skilled in using any website creating software. Their web builder is a WYSIWYG program (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get). This means that the completed page will display exactly the way it was designed.
2- You can create the pages offline with your favorite program (DreamWeaver, FrontPage, Microsoft Publisher, iWeb, etc.), and then upload them to your web host. This is another simple way to get your website online.
3- Frontpage Extensions grant you to publish your site directly from the FrontPage application. This means that you will not have to upload files through FTP, or another method. Microsoft FrontPage is a popular WYSIWYG HTML editor and web site administration tool from Microsoft.

* How to Select a Reliable Web Host? Where Can You Get Started? How Much Does It Cost?

First, take into consideration that web hosting is a global service. It does not matter what country you are located in; US, UK, Canada, Australia or India. It is good to note that the cost of hosting services in most countries is generally a tiny more costly in comparison to the same services in Canada and the United States. Specifically, American web hosts offer a much superior value for money than any local hosting.

If you want to begin your website, I advocate getting your domain and web hosting plan from the same company. This way, it is often possible to get your domain for free, due to some web hosting services offering a domain as a free gift today. Moreover, these web hosts usually offer a free “Site Builder”’ to create your website without paying any additional fees. By taking advantage of all of the aforementioned services, everything you need for setting up your website is provided just in one hosting package.

Don’t trust dishonest claims like “Best web hosting only $ 1 /month” or “Get the cheapest web hosting without sacrificing quality and features!!”. Take into consideration that some hosting companies are cheating and lying to their customers. It is very important that your service be uptime (functioning and available for use) . It means you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and users can enter your website whenever they refer to your site address. If your hosting service is not uptime it can be catastrophic!

And the ideal service available on the web:

http://www.threehosts.com/reviews/1st

Only $ 3.95 /month (with discount coupon)

Another useful link:

http://www.threehosts.com/create

There you can find a step-by-step guide to begin your website.

Hope this helps.

Answer by Carvey
You can try this website http://seospan.com/

Question by thegrons:
WordPress Categories and SEO?
I have a site that has 40 posts on it and they could very easily fall into 5 categories, now I just put them under mental health issues; would it help my SEO to break them into 5 categories or will it injured the SEO? Also in doing so will it show up on google as 5 subheadings?
I am using the permalink structure /%post name%/ so there would be no change in the permalink.

——————————————

Answer by Dream Webdesign
You can keep your posts organized in categories but the linking is built upon the settings from Permalinks. If you set there a link structure like /category/postname, then the entire link structure will be rewrote. But if you set the custom permalinks like /postname then it doesn’t matter when and how you add the posts into categories, the link will remain like it were in the begining.

Answer by SEOFactor
You can split them into categories, and it would probably help your optimization efforts a bit, depending on the categories and how they relate to searches.

You’ll want to make sure you do not find yourself in a duplicate content/keyword cannibalization situation though.

Duplicate content can happen when you create a post, and that post is copied in the category pages, archives, tag pages, etc. To fix this, you can usually find a plugin that implements the “canonical” tag.

I also bring up keyword cannibalization as a similar bit of advice. Let’s state you have a page about a specific service. You will have optimized that page to target a specific set of search terms in your page content, title, etc.

You’ll want to be careful about the names of your categories in that they do not appear to target the same keywords as other pages.

As for specifics, you will have to figure out what CMS you are using if you are (WordPress, Joomla, etc.) and find information on plugins/addons from the developer or the community.

If you aren’t using a CMS (you really should if you are working with blog posts, etc.) then you will want to pay really good attention to the link in the source box. You will have to manually add that canonical tag; but it’s not that bad.

Answer by Kristie
I recommend you categorize them to enhance optimization. I categorize in my PPC too. Also, I have a software that tracks my conversions too. Check them out here: http://ppc-conversion-tracking.com

——————————————
